Klaus Tomalla | Vice Chairman (General)
Hj Shahrildin bin POKLU DP HJ Jaya | Chairman
Haji Shahrildin bin Pehin Orang Kaya Lela Utama Dato Paduka Haji Jaya is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd (Takaful Brunei) and its subsidiaries; Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd (TBA) and Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd (TBK). Shahrildin started his career as a general takaful underwriter and progressed to heading roles including general takaful, family takaful, retakaful management, claims management, agency administration, sales and marketing, and risk management. Shahrildin holds a Master of Business Administration from Southampton University, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Studies from The American University, Washington DC, United States of America. Shahrildin is keen to promote and advance the takaful and insurance industry in Brunei Darussalam.
Kenneth Ling | Vice Chairman (Life)
Kenneth Ling is the General Manager of AIA Brunei, responsible for overseeing and managing the branch operations. His experience spans more than 30 years within the life insurance industry where he has help bring strong strategic leadership direction into the business and supporting sustainable business growth.
Klaus Tomalla | Vice Chairman (General)
Klaus Tomalla has been working for National Insurance Company Berhad in Brunei Darussalam since 2016. He has been in the insurance industry for more than 35 years. Most of the time he has been working for the German insurer Allianz which is also shareholder of National Insurance Company Berhad. Klaus worked over 14 years in Moscow/ Russia in the General and Life Insurance Sector. Before he was assigned to various projects in Central Eastern Europe and in Cairo/ Egypt. He is a bachelor degree holder in insurance and has an MBA in General Management. He started his insurance career in 1985 and completed his apprenticeship in Germany in 1989 in Allianz in Frankfurt/ Main.
Aariz Patrick Ng | Secretary
Patrick joined Great Eastern Life Assurance Co Ltd as Head of Brunei Branch in February 2022.
Patrick has been in the financial services industry for more than 25 years, especially in Banking covering areas of Retail, and Corporate Banking. Prior to joining Great Eastern, Patrick was overseeing branch management, digital banking, operations oversight, project management, and others in one of the local leading banks in the country. Patrick holds a Bachelor Degree in Accountancy from the University of South Australia and is a Senior Associate member of Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA).
Haji Mohd Yusreza bin Haji Mohd Yussin | Assistant Secretary
Haji Mohammad Yusreza joined Insurans Islam Taib Holdings as the Assistant Managing Director in 2022, overseeing Business Strategy and Operations. Prior to this role, he served as the Investment Portfolio Manager at the Islamic Development Bank in Saudi Arabia, where he focused on fostering private sector growth through private equity investments. His professional background also includes serving as a member of the Investment Committee for the Asian Development Bank – Islamic Development Bank Infrastructure Fund, where he played a key role in advancing high-impact infrastructure projects.
Haji Mohammad Yusreza holds a Master’s degree in Marketing and Management and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, both obtained in the UK. He began his career at Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD), where he accumulated extensive experience in Corporate, Retail Banking, and operations. His leadership skills and expertise continue to drive the organization’s success in the financial sector.
Siti Zulaikha binti Hj Awang Damit | Treasurer
Siti Zulaikha Haji Awang Damit joined Audley Insurance Company Sdn Bhd on 1st March 2007 after graduating. Her key role is to manage the Finance and Accounting Department. She is also assigned to manage and monitor the Global & Corporate portfolios under the Operation Department and is involved in the Corporate & Strategy matters of AIC.
Siti graduated in BA (Hons) in Accounting and Financial Management from Sheffield University, United Kingdom. She was previously the first treasurer of BITA when it was formed in 2013 and became the assistant secretary for BITA in 2015. She is currently the General Manager of AIC.
